Jacinta King, grew up near the town Loughrea, in the west of Ireland, where Irish Dancing is very much part of the local tradition.
Her earliest memories of dancing was at the age of 4, where she would stray from her mother while visiting Galway City to be found later dancing to the tunes of the local street musicians and to the delight of all.
Soon her mother had her taking formal lessons, where her skills as an Irish Dancer progressed dramatically allowing her to compete at Regional, National, and World Championship levels.
During these years she also performed with the widely acclaimed Ann O'Loughlin School of Irish Dance whose troup was regularly featured on National TV and which put on performances in different countries. In 1975 and 1979, they toured the US to great reviews and danced in the White House for President Carter.
Jacinta is very thankful to her family especially her mother who was always available and supportive throughout those early years. Married with three children, Jacinta now lives in the Marietta, GA, where she is known by her friends and colleagues as Jessie. |
